As a first-generation college student who had no idea what it meant to be a woman of color, I have come a long way in unpacking and healing my own story. By looking inward and then outward, I’ve learned that we need safe spaces to explore and unpack the ways in which we have privilege and the ways in which we don’t. Creating an inclusive culture starts with the first interaction a student has with IUPUI. As the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Heath’s undergraduate admissions counselor, I aim to help create a culture that instills a sense of community and belonging for all, from recruitment to graduation, with a wonderful team of dedicated professionals. I’ve had the pleasure of working in education for 8+ years and I look forward to connecting with you!
