Biography

For the past 30 years, Carole Kacius has worked in administrative positions in the schools of dentistry, medicine and public health at IUPUI. As the Associate Dean for Education and Training, Dr. Kacius manages the Office of Student Services which provides the planning, evaluation and student support for the school’s academic programs. She serves on the admissions and curriculum committees for undergraduate and graduate programs and teaches courses at the graduate level. She is the PI and co-PI on several federal and state grants that support education and training. Dr. Kacius earned her bachelor's and masters degrees from Ball State University, and her doctorate from Indiana University. She completed year-long programs with the Mid-America Public Health Leadership Institute in 2004 and the Indiana University Executive Leadership Institute in 2014. She is committed to strengthening the public health infrastructure through leadership positions with the Indiana Rural Health Association Board (past president), Indiana Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Statewide Advisory Board, Great Lakes Regional Public Health Training Center (PHTC) Leadership Team, IU Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice Advisory Committee, IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning Advisory Board (past chair), Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) Accreditation Site Visit Teams, and Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health National Executive Committee.
