The Department of Biostatistics at Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health (FSPH) has an opening for a mid to senior level faculty to serve as Director of Education.
The Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position, which offers an attractive opportunity for individuals who are interested in directing and improving innovative educational programs in biostatistics and data science.
Primary Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include:
- coordination of all educational programs of the Department,
- teaching and student advising,
- methodological research,
- and collaborative research.

About the Campus
The Department of Biostatistics is located on the health science campus of Indiana University, in the city of Indianapolis. The campus consists of four health-related professional schools, including Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Public Health. The campus is the focal point of health science education at Indiana University. Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is the largest medical school in the United States and is consistently ranked among the top medical schools in the nation by US News & World Report.
About the Department
The Department is affiliated with both FSPH and IUSM and currently has 17 faculty members, 23 Ph.D. students, and 39 professional staff. Faculty, staff, and students in the Department engage in a tripartite mission of methodological research, graduate education, and collaborative service. The Department has MS and Ph.D. programs in Biostatistics, a BS program in Health Data Science, an extensive portfolio of research funding as principal investigators and co-investigators that includes collaborative research with all departments in the Schools of Medicine and Public Health as well as Dentistry and Nursing. Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics or Statistics or Ph.D. in Data Science or Computer Science with experience in education. Successful candidates are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience administering academic programs and teaching is a plus.
