Being first in your family to attend and graduate from college is something to celebrate. That's why the Fairbanks School of Public Health is gearing up for First Generation Day on November 8, a national celebration and recognition of first generation college students.
If you are a first-generation faculty or staff member and would like to join the campus in this day-long celebration, please share a sentence or two about your experience, why it was special, how it’s affected you in a positive way, or just provide an inspirational quote!
IUPUI’s current student population includes nearly 30% first-generation students (that's more than 6,000 individuals)—and 41% of current FSPH students are first generation. Join us in letting these students know how awesome they are.
Submissions are due by end of day November 7 and will be shared across various FSPH social sites and/or the FSPH website on and after First Generation Day.
