Join us Thursday, Jan. 17 from 5:30pm-8:30pm for the free movie screening of Someone You Love, an award-winning documentary that takes a look into the lives of five brave women affected by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Their stories portray the misconceptions, stigma, shame, heartbreak, pain, and triumph that they experience while dealing with this complicated and often misunderstood infection.
Nearly 80 million Americans are currently infected with some type of HPV. Certain types of HPV can cause genital warts and various cancers. Every year in the United State, HPV causes cancers in over 33,000 men and women. Come watch the documentary and join a panel conversation afterwards (featuring local advocates and healthcare providers) to learn about preventing HPV and the health problems it causes. Light refreshments will be served before the screening.
This free, knowledge-based activity is open to the public and has been approved for CME, CNE and Pharmacy CE credits when viewed live.
This event is hosted by the Center for Public Health Practice in partnership with the Indiana Immunization Coalition and Welcoming Campus Innovator.
