Fairbanks School of Public Health Founding Dean Paul Halverson was named as a key advisor by Governor-elect Holcomb on Thursday, January 5. The governor-elect laid out his priorities for the upcoming legislative season at a press conference. Among his priorities is an initiative to fight drug and opioid abuse in Indiana. Halverson will be serving as a senior health advisor to the governor.
“I am honored to serve Governor-elect Holcomb as an advisor for health issues in Indiana. The health of the people is the foundation to our prosperity as a state. On behalf of the school, we stand ready to support both the governor and legislature with the health issues that lie ahead,” Halverson said.
