Steve Lacey Talks to Channel 13 About Worker Protection Related to Ebola

INDIANAPOLIS - Local hospitals, first responders and other health care providers are updating their Ebola containment plans and training. They are reacting to a mountain of new CDC recommendations and lessons learned from Dallas.

Over 300 Indianapolis EMTs and paramedics will receive additional training beginning Monday, including refresher courses on wearing and removing protective clothing intended to keep them safe from the Ebola virus.

IU Methodist hospital is tweaking its Ebola containment plans. A spokesman says the hospital is identifying additional isolation areas for patients and establishing special teams of care givers who will receive additional training.
