REMEMBER: With every intimate encounter, your risk for HPV increases. Get vaccinated today.

Why should I get vaccinated?

HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is a sexually transmitted virus.

There are many different strains of the virus, and the vaccine protects you against the 9 most dangerous strains that cause cancers and genital warts.

There is a risk of getting infected with HPV with any intimate encounter

This includes genital fondling, oral sex, anal sex, vaginal sex. HPV spreads skin-to-skin.

HPV is the most common STI and nearly everyone will get infected with HPV at some point in their lives.

79 million Americans are currently infected with HPV – most are in their late teens to early 20’s. 14 million men and women are newly diagnosed with HPV each year.

HPV affects everyone

This includes all races, genders, sexual orientations and socioeconomic classes.

Those infected with HPV often have no symptoms

Infected individuals can pass the virus on without knowing they have it.

HPV causes genital warts and cancer in many different parts of the body, in both males and females.

This includes head and neck, rectal, anal, penile, vulvar, vaginal, and cervical cancers.

The HPV vaccine is a very safe, very effective vaccine that is given in 3 doses to those age 15 – 26.

There is more than 10 years of research to support this.

90% of HPV-associated cancers could have been prevented by getting vaccinated.

90% of genital warts could have been prevented by getting vaccinated.

It’s not too late to get vaccinated against HPV if you’ve already been sexually active.
