Student Centered ECHO

About the Student-Centered ECHO

This ECHO program is for university students studying in health professions throughout Indiana.

Each session includes an informative didactic presentation and a deep dive into an interactive case-based discussion on the practical applications in patient care. All sessions meet virtually via Zoom and are approximately two hours in length. The sessions allow students to learn new knowledge, hone skills, and collaborate across professions around topics related to serving the LGBTQIA+ community and its unique social determinants of health. The content covered will help inform and empower students in their future professional experiences.

Sharing lived experiences is a powerful part of this ECHO initiative. Our partners at Cultivating a Belonging Culture (CABC) provide students participating in the program information that is not only evidence-based but also rooted in authentic stories from the community.

Partnership

The Student-Centered ECHO is a partnership between Cultivating a Belonging Culture (CABC), the Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) ECHO Center at the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, the Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center (IU IPE Center), the Indiana University School of Dentistry, and Purdue School of Pharmacy.

A partnership between the Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) ECHO Center at the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, the Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center (IU IPE Center), and CABC facilitate this ECHO program for health and social care learners centered around the LGBTQIA+ community.

The program is generously funded by the Indiana Clinical and translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) Trailblazer award and CareQuest.
