Regenstrief Institute, Inc. and Indiana University hosted the annual National Library of Medicine Informatics Training Conference here in Indianapolis on June 24, 2019. Sponsored by the NLM and Indiana CTSI, the conference gave informatics trainees, mentors and staff from programs across the country an opportunity to present their research, network and learn from each other.
During the kickoff session at Union Station, Dean Paul Halverson joined Regenstrief President and CEO, Dr. Peter Embí in welcoming attendees and spoke on the importance of informatics and the role it plays in building public health infrastructure.
Dr. Brian Dixon, associate professor at FSPH and director of public health informatics at Regenstrief Institute and FSPH, played an integral role in planning the conference. As a school, we could not agree more with Dr. Dixon (2nd photo below), who said, “These are future leaders and innovators in biomedical informatics and we are delighted to support them in their scientific journey.”
Photos of our T15 trainees presenting their research and other photos from the conference are available on Regenstief's Facebook page.
