Onboarding

Important resources

Below you will find important information and university resources for your upcoming academic year.

One.IU is the front door to all online services at IUPUI. From One.IU, students are able to perform tasks such as register for courses, view unofficial transcripts and view bursar account information.

Instructions for creating your IUI username and passphrase can be viewed on the University Information Technology Services (UITS) website. Once we receive your IUI email address it will be added to our student listserv. It is important that you check your student email account regularly. All departmental communications will be distributed via this account. As a student, you can have your IUI email address forwarded to an existing personal (i.e. Gmail or Yahoo) email address. Please see the instructions on forwarding email.

When your enrollment date and time comes, you can enroll in courses using your Shopping Cart or register using the iGPS Course Search in the Student Center in One.IU.

Canvas supports teaching and learning, committees, projects, research, and portfolios for Indiana University's community of students, faculty, and staff. This tool will allow instructor to post assignments, grades and syllabus. Note: information and course content will be available on Canvas as soon as an instructor publishes the course.

What is Canvas, and how can I get help with it?

The IU CrimsonCard is free to all enrolled students on the IUI campus and is required for all students at IUI. You will need to go to the Campus Card Services office located in the IUI Campus Center. If you have any questions, you can contact 317-274-5177. When obtaining your CrimsonCard you must present proof of identification and student status (i.e. copy of registration). It is very important that you obtain a CrimsonCard because you may need it to enter certain buildings in the evening, purchase textbooks or food, and check out library materials and other items on campus.

Students can purchase an “ST” parking permit from Parking and Transportation Services located at 1004 West Vermont Street (second entrance), 317-274-4232.

Use the official calendar to find out the semester’s most important dates—including the first day of class, the last day you can drop a class with an automatic W, refund dates, and more.

For information regarding refunds, billing due dates, how to pay a bill, payment options, master fee rate listings, tuition/fee estimation, as well as many other services please visit the Office of the Bursar. If you have questions specific to your account that cannot be answered online you can reach the Office of the Bursar at bursar@iupui.edu or 317-274-2451.

The Office of Student Financial Aid Services administers federal, state, university, and private funds in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study part-time employment. To ask specific questions regarding your account, the Office of Student Financial Services can be reached at finaid@iupui.edu or 317-274-4162.

The Fairbanks School of Public Health walks you through everything you need to know about scholarships, grants, and loans.

Two additional fees will be assessed of MPH students: (1) Interprofessional Practice and Education Fee of $150 paid during Year 1 and (2) Certified in Public Health Exam Fee of $250 paid with registration for the MPH internship.

Public health courses are located in several buildings across campus. Please be advised to check One.IU, your IUPUI email, or the CANVAS course site before the first day of class to find the location.

Building locations can be searched on the IUPUI interactive campus map.
