Treating the HCV, HIV, and SUD Syndemic

The Treat Program (Training, Response, Education, Access, Treatment) - and formerly known as IN-HAMP - is a one-day, interactive medical education training designed for clinicians interested in expanding their capacity to treat hepatitis C, HIV, and substance use disorders (SUD). 

Whether you're new to hepatitis C treatment or looking to strengthen your knowledge of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and syndemic care, this training provides practical, immediately applicable guidance to support your clinical practice.

Upcoming Trainings

TREAT is a one-day training program, and we will have in-person, virtual, and hybrid options for attendees to join and learn with us. Here are the upcoming training dates:

  • March 18, 2026 | Virtual
  • July 30, 2026 | Hybrid - virtual & in-person at Fairbanks School of Public Health
  • September 10, 2026 | In-person only at Fairbanks School of Public Health

In-person events take place at the Fairbanks School of Public Health, located in the Health Sciences building at Indiana University, Indianapolis. All trainings will run approximately 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

No-cost CEUs are available for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and physician assistants.

Sample Agenda

Throughout the day, participants will receive practical instruction on diagnosing and managing hepatitis C, understanding HIV prevention and care considerations, and integrating person-centered SUD care strategies into clinical practice. Training includes expert-led presentations, case-based learning, and opportunities for discussion with faculty experienced in viral hepatitis and infectious disease care.
